The Science and Clinical Applications for Teeth Whitening
A science-based overview of current bleaching techniques from a clinical standpoind
Dr. Aodhan Docherty covers a wide range of alternatives for Teeth Whitening, including dentist-supervised, at-home options, in-office treatments, how to approach difficult cases such as tetracycline stains and endodontically treated teeth (non-vital bleaching), enamel microabrasion, among others. He also addresses some of the most common myths related to the topic of bleaching, including the use of lights or power sources.
This course was coordinated in partnership with the Australian Dental Association for the ADX21 Melbourne online program.

Your Instructor
Dr. Docherty is a graduate of the University of Sydney Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Dentistry, completing his studies with honours and a University Medal.
He has engrossed himself in postgraduate education becoming alumni of the Fahl Cosmetic Academy, the Kois Academy, completing a two-year orthodontic mini-residency through EODO and the City of London Dental School and has completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry in Oral Implants at the University of Sydney.
Dr. Docherty is passionate about mentoring and teaching and is an examiner of the postgraduate Oral Implant Diploma at the University of Sydney. He believes in a literature based approach to dentistry and is an author in the soon to be released Wiley-Blackwell textbook “Practical Procedures in Implant Dentistry”. Currently in private practice in Sydney, he enjoys a mix of general, implant and aesthetic work.
