Photobiomodulation (PBM), or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), has been practically applied for virtually 50 years. However, there is much confusion surrounding the topic due to evolving technologies and the ability to study cellular responses. This therapy has been recently cast into the forefront as a multi-disciplinary modality so many around the world are seeking to gain a greater understanding of its effects. This lecture aims to give attendees a background on laser light therapy and then delve into the unique applications of photobiomodulation and its non-pharmacological benefits in the arena of health.

Your Instructor
Dr. Lan Tran obtained her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in 1995, and maintains her private practice in Brisbane, Australia, working mainly in Aesthetic Dentistry and Oral Rehabilitation. She has extensive experience with both hard and soft tissue lasers, working with Laser Dentistry since 2003, when she obtained her license.
Dr. Tran has been a Guest Consultant with Oral Health companies and been part of the teaching staff for TAFE and UQ. She is a fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute, the Australian Association of Laser Dentistry (AALD), and other laser societies. Dr. Tran is a Key Opinion Leader for multiple global dental companies, has given lectures and conducted workshops actively throughout Australia, Asia and Africa, in more than 20 countries.
