The Course

This course is designed to give the hygienist an introduction to the uses of laser therapy in dental hygiene. It will give the hygienist an understanding of the basic treatment modalities that can be used everyday in the hygiene room. This course will review the science behind why laser therapy works, and how it can be an important tool to aid in gingival and overall health. The course will also provide the hygienist with an understanding of how they can train and gain certification.


Your instructor

Brooke graduated from Western Kentucky University's program of Dental Hygiene where she gained a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Dental Hygiene. Brooke is a dually licensed dental hygienist who currently lives and works internationally. She holds licenses in the USA and in New Zealand, where she currently resides. She has 20 years of clinical dental hygiene experience and is currently a very sought after hygienist in New Zealand due to her expertise in Soft Tissue Laser Therapy and Advanced Periodontal Therapy. She is very skilled in treating advanced periodontal disease in clinical practice, with the incorporation of laser therapy, which is her primary focus in practice. Brooke was instrumental in bringing laser therapy to New Zealand for Dental Hygienists.

She is the first hygienist in the country to specifically train for and offer training to other dental hygienists in soft tissue laser therapy. She is the founder and CEO of LaserPerio Hygienist, Limited and regularly speaks and teaches on the topics of Soft Tissue Laser Therapy and Advanced Periodontal Therapy. Brooke is a professional and international speaker, clinical laser hygienist, and business owner. She gained her CH-OSE certificate from the NNHH in 2023. Brooke has been profiled by the National Network of Healthcare Hygienists, and is currently speaking on laser therapy for the NNHH. Brooke is a member of the NNHH, New Zealand Oral Health Association, Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health
