Dr. Velasquez is a renowned Dentist and Orthodontist from Colombia. With degrees from the University of Manizales and Universidad del Valle, Cali, as well as advanced studies in Germany and Colombia, he is a leader in his field. Dr. Velasquez directs postgraduate courses in Orthodontics and Maxillary Orthopedics and serves as a Professor at the Self-Ligating Clinic, specializing in Contemporary Techniques in Orthodontics. His research on therapeutic and surgical laser applications, published in indexed journals, has earned him national acclaim and two prestigious awards. In his private practice, Dr. Velasquez focuses on innovative orthodontic treatments, combining self-ligating systems with laser therapy for optimal patient care and outcomes.
Course Objectives:
This presentation aims to familiarize the dental practitioner with the various day-to-day applications of diode lasers in their practice. The focus will be on analyzing the efficacy of photobiomodulation (PBM) procedures and the positive outcomes they can render for patients. Furthermore, this presentation will examine the unique ways in which diode lasers can enhance dental surgery by significantly reducing bleeding in most cases, using topical anesthetic in over 90% of cases, and reducing recovery times. This presentation will provide an informative and comprehensive overview of the potential impact of diode laser technology in the daily dental practice.
